Quails Nest - a nice retreat
Our family of 4 spent 4 nights at the quails nest. The property is wonderful-- room to wander and relax .The house has a homey welcoming vibe, with loads of books and the perfect window seat We ate dinner on the covered porch and drank wine in the adirondack chairs. We walked across the street to the meadery to sample mead. Our kids had their own room with twin beds. The kitchen has anything you need.

Lovely spot
Such a beautiful location and a charming space. I can't wait to stay another time. I do wish that the kitchen was better equipped and that the stove was in better condition. But the cabin is clearly maintained with care and love, and the owners were helpful and responsive.

Terrific quiet spot
Terrific quiet spot, close to everything. Obvious pride of ownership by the hosts in keeping the house in top condition. Well equipped and comfortable, very easy to settle in and feel right at home. Bathrooms are nicely updated and hot water supply is plentiful. Cell phone coverage of the whole Point Reyes area is spotty, and the house is just outside service range. However the wifi is excellent.

Fantastic Stay
I booked the Quail's Nest for a relaxing weekend getaway to celebrate a friend's birthday, and it was the perfect place for it: cozy, charming, and quiet. Alice and Stephan were great hosts! We didn't meet them in person, but they were very friendly and speedy in all their replies to our questions, and the house manual they sent us was thorough and clear. The home is a really special place: the kitchen was well-stocked, the beds were comfy and had great blankets, and it's set up to make you feel at home (a great selection of teas, interesting books on the shelves). Thank you for a fantastic stay!

We loved the Quail's Nest in Pt Reyes area. Quite charming and comfy. Great location for our wedding activities. Road sign is covered by branches so difficult to find Campolindo Rd the first trip in to drive. We'd go there again !!

Lovely home
This was a perfect place for a family get-away to Pt Reyes. The house is comfortable and in a great location just outside Pt Reyes Station. Easy access to all the beaches and trails at Pt Reyes. The kitchen was totally equipped, the 2 acre lot is lovely with trees, deer and quails. The icing on the top was the absolutely perfect weather during our stay. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home with us.

Marvelously located house
This is a marvelously located house in one of California's most beautiful areas. I appreciated the feel of a house lived in for generations. As close as it is to the Bay Area it was lovely to have fresh air and the only sounds be the rain, the birds and the trees. The house was comfortable with lots of places to curl up and read a book and/or share time with friends and family. Check out the meadery Heidrun just down the lane, after reading about mead as the beverage of Celts and Vikings I was blown away by what a good champagne could be made from honey. Bless those bees. The host are great, easy to deal with, and welcoming. Thanks Stephan and Alice for wonderful, relaxing Spring weekend. Sarah

My Valentine's Day stay
My Valentine's Day stay in the Quail's Nest Cottage was amazing! Stephan made sure we were prepared for our stay and was always available to talk if I had any questions. In addition, he made sure to let us know about horseback trail rides and hikes around the cottage so we could keep ourselves busy throughout the weekend. Would absolutely stay here again, maybe with some friends next time around! I loved the old cabin feel (lots of exposed wood, stained glass) that was tech savvy at the same time (Chromecast, Sonos speaker, fast wifi). It allowed us to relax while still having our usual tech amenities. I wouldn't change anything about our experience.

Lovely house, great location.
The Quail's Nest was just lovely. Stephan was responsive and helpful from the beginning of the booking process. We -- 3 college friends -- spent a great weekend in the house. Each of us had a comfortable bedroom. The kitchen was great for communal cooking. The wifi was more than fast enough to stream music into the awesome Sonos speaker. The location is amazing -- just a mile from Pt Reyes Station, with its excellent bookstore, amazing bakery, great grocery store and more than enough restaurants for a weekend. We'd stay here again!

Saved our annual family vacation!
Stephan went above and beyond to save our annual family mini-vacation when another Airbnb experience failed miserably. A somewhat stressful (and very cold) 12 hours turned into another wonderful 48 hours at Stephan's charming cabin in Point Reyes Station. We enjoyed the woodburning stove, making meals in the large kitchen and playing games and reading in the comfortable living room. (I also snuck in a fair amount of work time, taking advantage of the strong wireless connection.) Stephan was very responsive whenever questions popped up. We really appreciated being both close to town and its amenities (Bovine Bakery, the awesome grocery store, Cowgirl Creamery, etc.) as well as to the area's amazing hiking trails. We had a phenomenal walk down Limantour Beach, braving the rain to be rewarded with a double rainbow :) Huge thanks to Stephan for making the Quail's Nest cottage available at such short notice and helping save our annual family mini-vacation!

Beauty and Peace at Happy Quail Cottage
The Happy Quail Cottage surrounds you with beauty, warmth and peace. The kitchen is very well equipped, the beds were warm and comfortable, all linens, towels were provided. The Cottage is clean and bright; a south facing beautiful living room window with stained glass ocean scene permits sunlight to enter and warm the living room, kitchen and eating areas. A south facing patio deck invites you to eat breakfast/lunch outside. Reading in the evening was heavenly as it is so quiet; Wi-Fi lets you access music and there are many great DVDs and books at the Cottage. Cottage location is excellent, close to the town of Pt Reyes Station (great bakery and grocery store, bookstore, "Flower Power" shop, Cowgirl Creamery, Stella Luna restaurant great for lunch and even a thrift store, one of our favorites!) and to the Bear Valley Visitors Center. and dozens of hiking trails. The owner provided excellent customer service. I would give the Happy Quail Cottage 10+/10 and I hope we can come back many times. I would highly recommend the Happy Quail Cottage to family and friends.

Great host
Stephan was a great host! Very attentive from the beginning of the booking process, he made sure our stay was as stress-free as possible. We were there for a wedding, and because of that ended up spending a lot of time just hanging out in the house. Sheets, towels, and blankets had been set out for us, and they were very clean. Instructions on how to get to the house, and how to get it up and running when we got there (accessing the keys, turning on hot water, etc) were very clear, and were sent well in advance of our stay. The house itself was awesome, big open living/dining room area made for a great hangout spot, and the annex had wall to wall windows and an additional day bed that served as a perfect spot for an afternoon nap. The house had undergone some renovations, specifically to the bathrooms and the outdoor deck. The bathrooms looked awesome, actually felt like those of a hotel, and the new deck was a great add, as that was where we ended up spending most of our time. There was a slight smell in the guest bathroom, most likely given issues with the septic tank, but it wasn't that bad. I raised the issue with the owner and he promptly responded that he would have that fixed. The one area I feel could use a little work is the pantry, which looks a bit dated and could use some cleaning. Overall, had a great experience, and will definitely head back! Thanks again for your hospitality, Stephan!

Delighted!
We were delighted with the Quail's Nest Cottage which was in a perfect location close to town. It was a cosy, warm, and special place to visit. The house was exactly as described, and Stephan gave us easy instructions for our stay. He was instantly available when we had a question (about using the very efficient wood stove) and we felt well taken care of. We were traveling as a family with three adult children, so there was plenty of room for everyone. We appreciated the lovely bathrooms, the stained glass windows, the spacious living areas, and the convenient neighborhood which was a jumping off point for our many memorable hikes.
